1. MICHAEL VICK, PHILADELPHIA EAGLES QB FLASHBACKS
Key Ratings: 93 SPD, 93 AGI, 94 ACC, 94 JKM, 97 THP, 91 TAD
Vick is the greatest video game athlete of all time. Bold statement, but he backs it up with his ridiculous ratings at the quarterback position. Vick will force your opponent to worry about his ability to scramble which will open up just about everything you do offensively. You will have to adjust your scheme due to his left handiness, but it’s worth it. Vick is the only player in draft champions that should be selected every single time you see him appear. No questions asked.
2. LADAINIAN TOMLINSON, SAN DIEGO CHARGERS HB
Key Ratings: 93 SPD, 94 AGI, 96 ACC, 99 SFA, 96 CAR
Tomlinson makes his triumphant return to Madden NFL 16 as our #2 player in Draft Champions. He can do it all at the halfback position and is #1 on our list to and is the best HB on our list.
3. RANDALL CUNNINGHAM, PHILADELPHIA EAGLES QB
Key Ratings: 88 SPD, 92 AGI, 90 JKM, 95 THP, 90 TAS, 93 TAD, 94 TOR
Cunningham isn’t just a mobile quarterback that can throw accurately. He is an accurate quarterback that has ridiculous mobility. The mixture of 88 Speed, 95 Throw Power, and 94 Throw on the Run make him the the second most dangerous quarterback in Draft Champions.
4. HERMAN MOORE, DETROIT LIONS WR
Key Ratings: 6’5”, 93 SPD, 97 CTH, 98 CIT, 93 SPC
There is no corner in the game that can match up with Moore’s speed and height. He will always have an advantage over every defender he faces. This makes Moore the single best receiver in Draft Champions and a must pick if he shows up during your draft.
5. ANTREL ROLLE, ARIZONA CARDINALS CB FLASHBACKS
Key Ratings: 92 SPD, 94 ACC, 94 JMP, 96 MCV, 92 ZCV, 90 PRS
Rolle can run step-for-step with most receivers in the game (shoutout to Breshad Perriman 97 SPD). What makes Rolle special is his 96 Man Coverage rating. He will stick to receivers when they run routes like corners and slants. This makes Rolle invaluable for your roster. He is the top corner in Draft Champions.
6. RAY LEWIS, BALTIMORE RAVENS MLB
Key Ratings: 97 TAK, 97 POW, 93 BKS, 96 PUR, 95 PRC
Lewis is essentially a one-man run defense. His quickness to the ball due to his Play Recognition and Pursuit ratings will make him a nightmare for offenses to blog. His 97 Tackle and 97 Hit Power will force turnovers due to big hits.
7. DERRICK BROOKS, TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS LOLB
Key Ratings: 89 SPD, 88 AGI, 94 ACC, 94 TAK, 93 POW, 94 PUR, 93 PRC, 89 ZCV
One of the most complete linebackers in the game, Brooks can do it all. He has the speed to match step for step with most receivers and has the coverage ability of most corners. Brooks does everything.
8. CARLOS ROGERS, SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS CB FLASHBACKS
Key Ratings: 92 SPD, 90 ACC, 90 MCV, 95 ZCV, 93 PRS
Rogers is a step slower than the aforementioned Antrel Rolle, but will still play at an elite level for your squad. He excels in zone coverage, but has 90 Man Coverage that allows him to hang with most receivers in the game on corner and slant routes. Rogers is the second best cornerback, behind Rolle, in Draft Champions.
9. TY LAW, NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS CB
Key Ratings: 90 SPD, 93 ACC, 97 MCV, 93 ZCV, 93 PRS
Ty Law was known for his ability to make big plays in the biggest moments. Expect him to do the same during your Draft Champions run. Corners come at a premium and you will always need to consider taking Law when he shows up.
10. JOHN ELWAY, DENVER BRONCOS QB
Key Ratings: 76 SPD, 96 THP, 93 TAS, 92 TAM, 95 TAD
This one’s for John! Elway is the best pure passer in Draft Champions and only loses out to Randall Cunningham on our big board. While he doesn’t have Cunningham’s speed, he has enough to make defenses respect a scramble out of the pocket.
11. CHRIS JOHNSON, TENNESSEE TITANS HB FLASHBACKS
Key Ratings: 96 SPD, 92 AGI, 97 ACC, 95 ELU, 93 CAR
Johnson is the type of offensive player you build your team around. His 96 Speed gives him the ability to take to the house every time he touches the ball. Johnson is especially dangerous in the passing game. Motion him out of the backfield and target him on drags over the middle of the field. His speed will take over from there.
12. TERRELL DAVIS, DENVER BRONCOS HB LEGENDS
Key Ratings: 93 SPD, 90 AGI, 94 ACC, 95 TRK, 96 CAR
Davis, better known as TD, has the speed to run by defenders and the strength to run them over. He is one of the few dual-threat halfbacks available in Draft Champions.
13. ROB GRONKOWKSI, NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS TE BASE ELITE
Key Ratings: 82 SPD, 96 CIT, 93 SPC, 70 RBK
The first non-Legend on our list. Gronkowski is an imposing force in the pass game and also is a monster as a run blocker. With 96 Catch in Traffic, he will hold on to almost every catch and will be a bulldozer in the run game with 87 Strength and 70 Run Block. Depending on how important tight ends are in your scheme, Gronk could be rated higher or lower in this Top 20 list.
14. J.J. WATT, HOUSTON TEXANS LE BASE ELITE
Key Ratings: 78 SPD, 94 STR, 97 PMV, 94 BKS, 97 PUR
Watt has the strength to play defensive tackle, the pass rush ability to play defensive end, and the speed to play outside linebacker. What can’t he do? If you said catch passes you’re wrong, he even has 70 Catch in Traffic. If you plan to build your team around your front seven, then Watt is a must pick.
15. DESMOND TRUFANT, ATLANTA FALCONS CB BASE ELITE
Key Ratings: 91 SPD, 95 AGI, 91 ACC, 93 MCV, 92 ZCV
Trufant is super-underrated as he isn’t the household name of some others on this list, but don’t ignore his ratings. He is quietly one of the best cover corners in Draft Champions.
16. STEVE ATWATER, DENVER BRONCOS FS LEGENDS
Key Ratings: 6’3”, 92 SPD, 95 POW, 90 PRC, 87 ZCV
Atwater has linebacker size and cornerback speed, but plays free safety. He is one of the best user-controlled players in the game due to his 92 Speed and 95 Hit Power.
17. VON MILLER, DENVER BRONCOS LOLB BASE ELITE
Key Ratings: 89 SPD, 91 TAK, 96 FNM, 90 BKS, 95 PUR
Miller is be a force to reckon with for opposing offensive lines. His ability to rush the passer and support the run game make him one of the best dual-threat players in Draft Champions.
18. DEZ BRYANT, DALLAS COWBOYS WR BASE ELITE
Key Ratings: 88 SPD, 93 AGI, 96 JMP, 92 CIT, 96 SPC
Spectacular catch is one of the most overlooked ratings for receivers. Bryant will make you a believer with his 96 rating. If you ever get one-on-one situations, throw it up to Dez and watch him make a play.
19. PATRICK PETERSON, ARIZONA CARDINALS CB BASE ELITE
Key Ratings: 6’1”, 92 SPD, 95 AGI, 96 JMP, 91 MCV, 92 PRS
Peterson has the rare blend of speed and height at the cornerback position. He will be your best bet to hang with the Herman Moore’s of the world. While he is ranked 19th on our list, he is almost always a must-take pick.
20. DEVIN MCCOURTY, NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS FS BASE ELITE
Key Ratings: 90 SPD, 90 ACC, 92 JMP, 94 ZCV, 85 MCV
McCourty is a former cornerback turned free safety and that means value for you at the safety position. He is great at playing the deep half of the field, but has the cover skills to match up man to man with most receivers in the game.
