The MUFL Free Agency period was chaos in the best way. Some franchises spent big and actually got better. Others spent big and still got worse. And then a handful of teams sat at home acting like they were already Super Bowl-ready (spoiler: they’re not).
Here’s the full breakdown.
🔥 AFC EAST
🐬 Miami Dolphins
Signed: K Jake Bates — 4 years, $19.6M
Miami made exactly one move… and it was a kicker.
A really good kicker, but still — when the entire division is loading up, Miami signed a special teamer like they’re allergic to improvement.
MU Take: Bates has a cannon of a leg, but this offseason won’t scare anyone.
Grade: C
🟢 New York Jets — THE MUFL HEADLINE
“Jets land Joey Bosa. League collectively panics.”
Key Signings:
DT Joey Bosa — 1 year, $19.8M CB Tre Tomlinson — 3 yrs, $7.5M WILL Malcolm Rodriguez — 3 yrs, $18.6M FS Kevin Byard — 1 yr, $6.9M WR Christian Kirk — 2 yrs, $26.6M SS Jabrill Peppers — multi-year WR Elijah Moore — multi-year CB Marcus Jones — multi-year
Let’s keep it real:
THIS is how you run a free agency.
The Jets dropped a nuclear bomb on the offseason by signing Joey Bosa, instantly turning their defensive front from “solid” to “impossible.” Then they stacked elite secondary talent, two legit starting receivers, and smart linebacking depth.
No fluff — this is a Super Bowl-swinging offseason.
MU Take: If this roster doesn’t win, coaching is the problem.
Grade: A+
🔥 AFC NORTH
🐅 Cincinnati Bengals
Key Signings:
RT Rasheed Walker — 4 yrs, $65.2M MIKE Dominique Hampton — 4 yrs, $15.6M CB Javelin Guidry — 3 yrs, $10.5M
Cincy paid top dollar to finally protect their QB and stabilize their defense.
Walker’s contract is huge — borderline reckless — but it’s the kind of aggressive move winning teams make.
MU Take: Overpaid, but improved. Cincy is pushing chips.
Grade: A-
🐕 Cleveland Browns
Signed:
EDGE Arnold Ebiketie — 2 yrs, $25.6M
One signing, and it’s a rotational edge rusher. Browns fans asked for fireworks and got a sparkler.
MU Take: Not bad. Not great. Just… there.
Grade: C+
🟦 Pittsburgh Steelers
Key Signings:
D.J. Chark, Braden Smith, Teven Jenkins, Kene Nwangwu, Scott Miller, Will Mallory, Kelvin Joseph, Bubba Bolden
Pittsburgh didn’t chase stars — they chased value. And honestly?
They hit.
Teven Jenkins and Braden Smith instantly toughen up the OL, and Chark gives them a legit vertical threat.
MU Take: They didn’t blow the league away, but they quietly got better everywhere.
Grade: B
🔥 AFC SOUTH
🔵 Indianapolis Colts
Key Signings:
Jedrick Wills Jr, Art Green, Jalyn Armour-Davis, Braxton Jones
The Colts had a grown-man offseason: trenches, secondary, toughness. No flashy names, but every move fixes a real weakness.
MU Take: Team-building clinic.
Grade: B+
💛 Tennessee Titans — The Most Aggressive Team in the League
Key Signings:
WILL Bobby Wagner — 3 yrs, $40.8M MIKE Lavonte David — 1 yr, $13.4M FS Jaquan Brisker — 4 yrs, $50.4M RG Isaac Seumalo — 2 yrs, $27.2M EDGE Haason Reddick — 2 yrs, $25M RG Evan Neal — 3 yrs, $21.6M K Will Lutz — 1 yr LS Andrew DePaola — 1 yr
Tennessee signed two Hall of Fame linebackers, a franchise free safety, two legit linemen, and a top-tier edge rusher. It’s basically an entire roster overhaul in one offseason.
MU Take: If these guys can still run, Titans just built a bully.
Grade: A
🔥 AFC WEST
⚡ Los Angeles Chargers — The Most Loaded Roster After Free Agency
Key Signings:
Javonte Williams, Jaylen Warren, Rondale Moore, Dallas Goedert, Chidobe Awuzie, D.J. Reader, Devin Lloyd, Bryan Cook
The Chargers said, “We’re not rebuilding, we’re reloading,” and delivered the deepest class of any team. There isn’t a single position they didn’t boost.
MU Take: Devin Lloyd + D.J. Reader alone is crazy. Add the rest? Nightmare fuel.
Grade: A+
🟦 Denver Broncos
No Signings
Broncos fans slept through free agency and the team followed their lead.
Grade: F (for Forgettable)
🟪 Las Vegas Raiders
Key Signings:
CB De’Antre Prince EDGE Marcus Davenport
Decent defensive help, but nowhere near enough firepower to threaten the AFC elite.
MU Take: Better, but still mid.
Grade: C+
🔴 Kansas City Chiefs
No Signings
Mahomes can’t do everything, but KC seems determined to test that theory.
Grade: F
🔥 NFC EAST
🟩 Philadelphia Eagles —
Signings (from your screenshot):
WR Anthony Schwartz — 1 year, $40.4M TE Mark Andrews — 1 year, $59.9M
Philly didn’t make a lot of moves.
They made two nuclear ones.
Anthony Schwartz brings Olympic-level speed. At that price, he’s not a gadget guy — he’s being paid like a true WR1 who’s expected to take the top off every coverage and force defenses into two-high shells all game. Mark Andrews is the real headline: an elite TE, red-zone monster, and security blanket. Dropping almost $60M on a 1-year deal screams “we’re going for it right now.”
This isn’t a slow build. This is a one-year Super Bowl rental window:
“Give the QB weapons, live with the cap pain later.”
🔷 Dallas Cowboys — No Signings
Grades: F & F
🟥 Washington Commanders — Massive Culture Reset
Key Signings:
WR Marquise Brown — 4 yrs, $63.6M FS Justin Simmons — 1 yr, $7.6M QB Malik Willis — 4 yrs, $18.4M MIKE Ivan Pace Jr — 4 yrs, $26.4M HB Israel Abanikanda — 2 yrs, $5.4M CB Darius Rush — 4 yrs, $20.8M K Joey Slye, LS Bobenmoyer Hired OC Andy Reid & DC Mike Tomlin (wild)
Washington didn’t reload — they rebuilt the entire identity of the team.
Marquise Brown gives them a true WR1, Simmons gives them leadership on defense, and the coaching hires?
Straight comedy AND genius.
MU Take: The Commanders might have created a whole new monster.
Grade: A
Giants –
🔹 TE Colby Parkinson — 1 year, $3.9M
A value signing at tight end. Parkinson gives the Giants a long, reliable possession target with size and blocking ability. He’s cheap, dependable, and fits exactly what their offense asks from TE2/TE3 roles.
Grade: B
🔹 HB Ty Chandler — 2 year, $7.8M
This is the sneaky signing that could end up being their best move. Chandler brings burst, agility, and big-play speed to a Giants offense that needed juice behind their RB1.
A true change-of-pace back who can turn a swing pass into a 40-yard gain.
Grade: B+
🔥 NFC NORTH
🟧 Green Bay Packers
Signed:
CB Adoree’ Jackson — 1 yr FS Eddie Jackson — 1 yr
The Jackson twins reunite in Green Bay. Short contracts, big experience.
MU Take: Smart moves for a roster trying to stay relevant.
Grade: B-
🟦 Bears — No Signings
🟪 Lions — No Signings
Grades: F & F
🔥 NFC SOUTH
🟥 Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Key Moves:
RG Shaq Mason — 1 yr, $9M Hired HC Memphis Doug Hired HC Rodravian Murphy
No huge player haul, but two new leaders on the headset. Tension or brilliance? Time will tell.
MU Take: Coaching overhaul > player overhaul… if you hired the right guys.
Grade: B
🟣 New Orleans Saints — No Signings
Grade: F
🔥 NFC WEST
🟦 Seattle Seahawks
Key Signing:
DT John Franklin-Myers — 2 yrs, $30.4M
A massive trench upgrade, but not much else.
MU Take: One big move better be enough.
Grade: B
🟨 Los Angeles Rams
Key Signings:
TE Noah Fant — 4 yrs, $38.4M SAM Sam Williams — 5 yrs, $8M LS Patrick Scales — 1 yr
Fant is the crown jewel — a huge addition for the passing attack.
MU Take: They did more than expected.
Grade: B
🟥 Arizona Cardinals — No Signings
Grade: F
🟥 San Francisco 49ers
Key Signings:
WILL Quincy Williams — 3 yrs, $22.8M QB Marcus Mariota — 3 yrs, $37.8M WR Calvin Austin — 3 yrs, $23.7M
San Francisco opted for speed and leadership — not a bad combo.
MU Take: Not flashy, but effective.
Grade: B
⭐ FINAL MUFL FREE AGENCY TAKEAWAY
This offseason wasn’t “good” or “bad.”
It was polarized.
Some teams spent like they were one piece away. Some teams spent like they were eight pieces away. Some didn’t spend at all and might get exposed early.
But one truth stands above all:
The AFC East and NFC East might be the two most competitive divisions in the entire MUFL after this free agency period.
