EA Sports has rolled out the latest Madden NFL update, bringing a wave of gameplay fixes, new features, and polish across Franchise, Superstar Mode, MUT, and presentation. This patch targets some of the community’s biggest frustrations while adding depth and realism to core football mechanics. Here’s a breakdown of what’s new:

Gameplay Updates

Pass Blocking & Pass Rush

  • New Coaching Adjustment: Players can now set their default pass protection scheme (Base, Empty, Half Left, Full Left, Half Right, Full Right, or Default).
  • Shotgun Play Action: Blocking logic improved for better targeting and protection.
  • Pocket Degradation: Timing tweaks make failed pass rush moves create more natural pocket collapse.
  • QB Contain Logic: Defenders stick to their assignments better, keeping scrambling quarterbacks in check.
  • Pass Rush Variety: Reduced overuse of Rip moves to create more ratings-based balance.
  • Fixed menu bugs that caused pass protection adjustments to get stuck.

  • Edge Setting: Defensive ends steer outside longer to seal the edge more effectively.
  • Non-Engaged Sheds: Reduced power shed frequency for a fairer run game.

Passing Game

  • Route Stem Changes: Minimum stemmed-down routes increased from 1 to 3 yards to prevent overpowered corner routes.
  • Aggressive Catching: Receivers now drop more balls in traffic, better reflecting ratings and physical collisions.
  • Wildcat Fixes: Special moves now work properly when using gadget players at QB.
  • Penalty Fixes: Corrected illegal man downfield calls on certain bootlegs.
