Saint’s Packers hand TG’s Bears their first loss in Week 5 Game of the Week

October 2, 2026

Green Bay Packers 42, Chicago Bears 14

Two unbeaten division rivals entered Madden Underground’s Week 5 Game of the Week. Only Saint and the Packers left with a perfect record.

TG’s Bears struck first when Caleb Williams found Luther Burden for a touchdown. Saint answered immediately: Jordan Love connected with Jayden Reed for a one-play scoring drive. Green Bay took the lead on Love’s touchdown pass to Christian Watson and never gave it back. By halftime, the Packers had stretched the score to 28–7.

Chicago’s offense struggled to keep pace after its opening drive. Green Bay intercepted Williams in the first quarter, stopped a fourth-down attempt, and kept pressure on him throughout the game. Micah Parsons delivered a crucial sack during a Bears red-zone drive in the second half, helping the Packers force another turnover on downs.

Saint’s offense kept finding ways through. A touchdown run by Taylor and a one-handed scoring catch before halftime built the lead. Then Green Bay returned the second-half kickoff for a touchdown, putting the game firmly in the Packers’ control. Saint added another touchdown pass to Golden, while Josh Jacobs helped drain the clock with repeated first-down runs in the fourth quarter.

Burden gave Chicago one more highlight with a long touchdown catch late in the game, but the comeback never materialized. Green Bay moved to 5–0, and Chicago fell to 4–1. The result also gives TG a clear target for the rematch the broadcast identified for Week 16.

Saint won the first meeting decisively. The next one could carry even more weight in the NFC North race.
