Madden NFL 27 players experiencing crashes, failed simulations or problems advancing their online Franchise may have a temporary workaround.
The method was demonstrated in a step-by-step video posted by PK Delay and has also been tested inside the Madden Underground Franchise League. Since applying the change, every simulation in our league has run smoothly so far.
The possible issue appears to involve the game downloading cloud replays for halftime presentations and weekly recaps.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Every member of the Franchise must complete the following process:
- Load Madden NFL 27 and enter your online Franchise.
- From the main Franchise hub, use R1 on PlayStation or RB on Xbox to move over to the Options tab.
- Select Franchise Settings.
- Open League Settings.
- Move over to the Team section inside the League Settings menu.
- Scroll down until you reach Cloud Replay Setting.
- Change Max Cloud Replay Downloads – Halftime to 0/5.
- Change Max Cloud Replay Downloads – Weekly Recap to 0/5.
- Have every other user in the Franchise repeat the same process.
Every User Must Change Their Own Settings
This is the most important part of the workaround.
The commissioner changing these options does not automatically update them for the entire league. Cloud replay downloads are controlled through each user’s individual settings, meaning every member must manually set both options to zero.
If even one user leaves cloud replay downloads enabled, the Franchise may still attempt to download replay content connected to that user’s games.
What If the Settings Are Greyed Out?
If the cloud replay settings are unavailable while creating the Franchise, complete the league setup and enter the Franchise first.
Once the league has officially started, return to:
Options → Franchise Settings → League Settings → Team → Cloud Replay Setting
You should then be able to change both replay download options to zero.
Is This a Confirmed Permanent Fix?
Not yet. This should be considered a community-tested workaround and not a guaranteed permanent solution.
However, our simulations have been smooth since every Madden Underground league member disabled both cloud replay download options. That suggests the Franchise crashes could be connected to the game loading halftime or weekly recap replays during the simulation process.
Until a permanent solution is available, commissioners experiencing Franchise crashes should have every user apply these settings and test the next weekly advance.
